      1. Xi visits Moscow for state visit, Victory Day celebrations

      Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to pay a state visit to Russia and attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War.

      Xi and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on further deepening the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era.

      2. PLA Honor Guard takes part in Red Square parade

      The 119 members of the People's Liberation Army Honor Guard took part in the spectacular military parade marking the 80th anniversary celebrations of the victory of the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War on Friday in Moscow, Russia, in a demonstration of China's commitment to maintaining world peace.

      In 2015, members of the PLA Honor Guard participated in a military parade in Moscow commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War.

      3. China, U.S. scheduled to hold trade talks

      He Lifeng, as the Chinese lead person for China-U.S. economic and trade affairs, will have a meeting with the U.S. lead person Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during his visit to Switzerland.

      The conversations mark the first official public engagement between the world's two largest economies since the Trump administration's decision to impose hefty tariffs on imports from China plunged the two sides into a trade war.

      4. China announces fresh policy boost to fuel economic recovery

      China's monetary and financial authorities on Wednesday unveiled a raft of supportive measures, including policy rate and reserve requirement ratio (RRR) cuts, as the country stepped up efforts to stabilize markets and sustain economic recovery amid external headwinds.

      More financial support, meanwhile, will be given to sectors including tech innovation, service consumption and elderly care via relending -- with relending rates lowered by 0.25 percentage points from Wednesday.

      5. Super-fast 5G-A network expands across China

      The 5G-A network surpasses the current 5G network in terms of speed, latency, connection scale and energy consumption, achieving a peak data rate level of 10 gigabits per second for downloads and 1 gigabit per second for uploads, as well as millisecond-level latency and low-cost connectivity for the Internet of Things.

      Cities such as Beijing and Shanghai have already started offering 5G-A network services in some districts.

      6. 137th Canton Fair concludes with record number of overseas purchasers

      The 137th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, concluded on Monday in south China's Guangdong Province, with organizers announcing the participation of over 288,000 overseas buyers.

      This was a 17.3 percent increase from the previous session and hit a new high. There were 171,750 first-time attendees. Purchasers from countries participating in Belt and Road cooperation totaled 187,450, up 17.4 percent year on year and representing 64.9 percent of all overseas buyers.

      7. China's Zhao Xintong crowned at Snooker World Championship

      China's Zhao Xintong became the first Asian player to win the Snooker World Championship.

      With a commanding victory over three-time world champion Mark Williams, 28-year-old Zhao not only claimed his first world title, but also redefined the global landscape of a sport long dominated by British players.

      8. Beijing to host inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games

      Beijing will host the 2025 World Robot Conference (WRC) and the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) in August.

      The main events of the WHRG, the world's first multi-sport competition for humanoid robots, will test the athletic and functional skills of robots in track and field, soccer, dance, handling materials, and medical sorting.

      9. LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort slated to open on July 5

      LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort, the largest LEGOLAND in the world, will officially open on July 5.

      Located in Shanghai's Jinshan District, the 318,000-square-meter resort is a LEGO theme park and hotel destination for children aged 2 to 12 and their families. The resort features over 75 interactive rides, shows and attractions, as well as thousands of LEGO models across eight immersive "lands."

      10. Golden monkeys from China make European debut at French zoo

      Three golden monkeys from China made their public debut on Wednesday at the Zoo Park of Beauval in central France, marking the species' first journey outside Asia.

      The golden monkey is native to the mountainous forests of central and southwest China. Known for its striking golden-orange fur and distinctive upturned nose, the golden monkey is a national treasure in China and is under top-level state protection.
